Please contact us for International rates.* ===INTRODUCTION:=== From the spring of 2002 until the fall of 2005, Palisades Toys produced a number of very detailed, high quality toy and statue lines from many childhood TV favorites. Among these was a very extensive action figure collection modeled after those lovable characters created by Jim Henson for The Muppet Show. Each of these magnificently crafted and packaged figures came with various accessories accenting their own unique character and can be used in conjunction with other figures and/or the larger play sets. All are made from solid plastic via an injection molding process, and many come with clothing made of a rubber-like material. My wife and I instantly fell in love with these figures because of their sturdy construction and lifelike appearance, and from then until now we have been tracking and collecting the figures from this series with an almost obsessive care. Through extensive research, we're 99.9% sure that Palisades produced 130 Muppet figures in total which includes all variations of packing and style; and this set comprises 121 of those! The remaining very rare missing figures were near unattainable to complete this set in its entirety before this listing was created, and for financial reasons, it has come time to part ways before full completion. Rest assured though, the few that are missing are inconsequential when compared to the size and quality of this set. ===CONDITION:=== Every single one of these figures is factory sealed with the exception of those few that were not shipped sealed. Painstaking care was used to ensure that all plastic bubbles and blisters are free of price stickers, dust and yellowing signs of age caused by heat and light exposure. All card backs and boxes are free of creases, scratches and split edges. For very slight defects that were common during case shipments to vendors, we will itemize those details to ensure that you are completely happy with your purchase and understand the quality of each figure's package up front. Our goal while building this set was to ensure that all packages were a 9 out of 10 or better quality, as this was meant for picky collectors like us! ===COST:=== As mentioned above, our almost obsessive like nature in building this set required that we create a spreadsheet to track all of the information we gathered, which in the end also helped us determine its value. (This document will be included with your purchase). It details every figure's name, his or her variant(s) and identifying features, the quantities produced (if available), and the last 5 prices in which that figure sold for from around the internet. (Please note that these prices do NOT including shipping charges.) These 5 costs were then averaged in the final column and all averages were added to the bottom line. From this, we chose what we felt was a fair number and added to it the shipping charges which are explained later. ===RARITY:=== For those of you unfamiliar with Action Figure collecting and happened to stumble on this ad because of your love for Muppets, you are probably wondering why a bunch of children's toys, that originally sold for between $15 and $30, is priced so highly. The answer is of course rarity, which can be further defined by 3 things: First, all figures in this set were obviously only produced in limited quantities; and some much less than others. We're not sure exactly what the common figure quantities were, but we believe the average production run to be somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000. Through extensive research gathered from various vendors and distributors, we have been able to identify the exact quantities of 61 of these rarer figures which were only available by one of three ways: 1. Exclusive Internet vendor or store purchases 2. At select toy trade shows held in various parts of the country 3. Membership in the Palisades Collectors Club All 3 of these types are known to collectors as "Variants". They are made from the same mold as the original figure, except they were finalized with different clothing, coloring and accessories; and were even occasionally packaged differently as well. ===CONDITION:=== The second factor involved in their value is condition. Finding all of these figures still sealed with their outer packaging in near mint to mint condition is very hard to do; and again, is sometimes more difficult than others due to the quantities produced. For example, you may find 4 sealed Kermit's in a search, but you'd be hard pressed to find one sealed with no packaging flaws or damages. For example the figures from Series' 1-3 had cardboard and bubble packages. Some of these bubbles weren't glued on parallel to their cards and some didn't have enough glue so the bubble began to lift over time. Later on during the blister pack lines, some blister edges were held too long under the heat knife and were left with melted or warped plastic. Other blisters weren't packed tightly enough or were packed too tightly, leaving either space or compression of their inner shells that forced the outer bubble to bend. Another problem involved with flaws is that either a seller may not tell you the truth about those flaws or simply may not have a collector's eye when looking for damage. We ourselves were burned countless times by dishonest sellers and have had to replace figures many times over to complete this set with collector standards. Finally comes the issue of shipping. Often overlooked, like sales tax in a store circular, things need to packed well to avoid damage during shipping, which obviously adds to the final weight of already heavier than average figures. Additionally, single purchases often compounded that cost over time as we filled in the holes of the collection, and so add to the end price. ===SHIPPING:=== Because of the size and value of this set, we've decided to include the shipping cost into the final price and set the shipping cost to FREE for ALL domestic U.S. purchases. All of the boxes will be tracked and insured and will be lovingly packed with Styrofoam peanuts and/or bubble wrap to ensure they safely arrive to you in the condition they leave us. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or outside of the continental U.S. will incur an additional fee.
